About Samantha
Samantha Lampkin (formerly, Samantha Thomas) is an Emmy Award Winning Journalist, Entertainment/Lifestyle Correspondent and currently a Radio/Social Media Personality.
A Chicago native and Cultural Enthusiast at heart, Samantha started her Media career as a Director, and Television News Producer for several local news markets across the U.S. including Missouri (CBS), Las Vegas (ABC, FOX and CBS), and Chicago (CBS) & (WGN).
It was during her career as a TV News producer that Samantha received an EMMY Award.
Samantha eventually created her own media lane, and in 2014 started the initial concept of her Web-Series, SmallTALK With Samantha. It officially launched in 2015 with a series of episodes highlighting Chicago Influencers and Chicago Dining.
Samantha knows what's trending, and loves to create and introduce the masses to content that’s inspiring and motivating.
In 2020, Samantha became an On-Air Personality at WVON 1690AM | iHeartRadio, Chicago’s oldest African-American (and Black woman-) owned news talk radio station. While there, she hosted, “The Evening Show with Samantha,” Monday - Thursday from 6pm - 9pm where she invites listeners and viewers on social media to simply, “TALK to Samantha.”
Currently, Samantha is a Brand/Media Consultant, requested Emcee, Host and Commentator. She also hosts a YouTube Podcast with her Husband, Luther Lampkin called, “Let’s Talk About It,” where they talk about Relationships and the current culture around getting (and staying) together in love. Samantha is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated®, and the National Association of Black Journalists.
